ITALY | TUSCANY

Tuscany is the romantic heart of Italy. With its rich rolling hills, jagged coastline and picture-perfect countryside town, the region is one of dreams.

It’s no wonder this is one of the most visited parts of Italy. There is something for everyone. Its rich artistic heritage for one—as the epicentre of the Renaissance, original paintings, sculptures and frescoes from the great artists are found here—Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Botticelli. Finds their works in museums and charming small-town churches.

The draw of authentic Italian cuisine is ever-present, and we can be quickly satisfied with a wealth of establishments to choose from, ranging from simple trattorias to fine dining in Florence. Great traditional dishes featuring wild boar and foraged wild truffles are not to be missed. The fruitful produce is seen along our drives, that are framed by luscious vineyards and verdant olive trees. A wonderful experience is to go behind the scenes and discover the process behind some of the more complex varieties—each telling a story more intriguing than the last.

With the beautiful city of Florence as your hub, the region is wonderful to travel by car and train, the former allowing for an uncovering of lesser-known towns and beautiful vistas that you can stop to capture. Every area has its charm, from wine tasting in Chianti to the medieval Siena, basing yourself at one of our recommended properties allows for day tripping to various sights.
