ITALY | MILAN & LAKE DISTRICT

Milan, with its bustling city life and beautiful museums, becomes our gateway to Italy’s showstopping lakes.

Known for its extensive museums and impeccable fashion, Milan is a lovely city to spend a few days exploring. Stoll along beautiful boutiques and stop by unique art galleries by day, and by night, sit for a theatrical performance at the stunning Opera House. The city also boasts a wealth of fantastic restaurants ranging from the Michelin-starred haute cuisine, to family-run bakeries and fast-paced trattorias. From Milan, a short train or car ride away are the crystal lakes of Italy.

Lake Como is the deepest lake in Europe, and with its fjord-sembling scenery, is a treat for the eyes. Take a boat ride to various towns surrounding the lake, and walk along the streets, stopping by local boutiques and friendly restaurants for a snack. Then off to Lake Maggiore, where the water stretches into Switzerland. Stoll through lakeside parks with stunning palaces in view, creating a feeling of grandeur throughout this lake. Nestled between the two is Lake Iseo, a little off the beaten track but still as spectacular. The landscape has the distinct feature of a large mountain piercing through its waters, lovely to admire whilst snacking on freshly caught sardines and crisp local wine.
