The Makgadikgadi Pans are a vast network of salt pans; the remnants of a prehistoric superlake into which the Okavango Delta previously drained. Over many millenia, influenced by various geological shifts, the watercourses eventually dried up, leaving behind a seemingly infinite, other-worldly flatness stretching out in every direction as far as the eye can see.
The beauty of the Makgadikgadi Pans lies in the complete remoteness and sense of total isolation; however, there exist a number of hidden gems for those who venture deeper into these harsh lunar landscapes.
These are a selection of lodges that we feel combine well for this journey. However we do also have a range of options to consider in each region, and can tailor them to you preference.
