Lying adjacent to Mozambique in the beautiful southeastern reaches of Zimbabwe, Gonarezhou, which means ‘place of elephants’, is Zimbabwe’s second largest national park and home to over 10,000 elephants. Bordering Gonarezhou National Park, the private Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve represents a remarkably scenic corner of the Zimbabwe.

These two remote wilderness regions form part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park – together with South Africa’s Kruger and Mozambique’s Limpopo – extending across a vast area of sandy riverbeds, majestic baobab-dotted scrubland, mopane woodland and stunning red sandstone cliffs called the Chilojo Cliffs, which enjoy beautiful views overlooking the Runde River valley. The Malilangwe Reserve boasts one of the highest concentrations of the endangered black rhino and abundant wildlife makes for wonderful wildlife encounters.
