Ladakh Women's Journey
31 July - 9 August 2026 (9 nights, 10 days)
From USD 3,780 per person
Ladakh does not reveal itself quickly.
Set high in the Himalayas of northern India, the landscape shifts from green valleys to high-altitude desert, wide, spare, and defined by a particular stillness. Villages cling to glacial rivers.
Life moves in rhythm with land and season, much as it always has.
For travellers, it offers something increasingly rare: space, quiet, and a genuine sense of distance from the usual routes. And running through all of it, water.
The glacial rivers that carved this landscape are also what sustain it, and they will trace much of your journey here.
Itinerary & Accommodation
Arrive into Delhi and settle in for a restful evening before the journey ahead. This pause between international travel and the mountains allows you to unwind and prepare for the early flight into Ladakh.
Overnight at Andaz Delhi Aerocity, Classic Room
Flying into Leh, the landscape transforms into a vast high-altitude desert framed by rugged mountains and the winding Indus River. The day is kept intentionally slow to allow for rest and acclimatisation.
Overnight at Le Metok Wellness Resort, Cottage
A gentle start to the day allows your body to continue adjusting, followed by a visit to Thiksey Monastery and a meaningful cultural experience in the evening.
Overnight at Le Metok Wellness Resort, Cottage
Begin walking through the open landscapes of the Sham Valley, moving at a steady, mindful pace toward the peaceful village of Yangthang.
Overnight at Village Homestay, Yangthang
Continue trekking across a mountain pass before descending into a softer, greener landscape of juniper groves and cultivated farmland.
Overnight at Village Homestay, Hemis Shukpachan
A gradual descent brings you to Temisgam, after which you continue by road toward Basgo for a well-earned rest.
Overnight at Homestay near Basgo
Shift from land to water as you raft along the Zanskar River, surrounded by dramatic canyon landscapes and glacial waters.
Overnight at Riverside Camp, Zanskar River
Continue rafting toward the confluence of the Zanskar and Indus Rivers before returning to Leh in the afternoon.
Overnight at Indus River Camp
Explore Leh’s history and culture, from local markets to monasteries, ending the day with a peaceful sunset at Shanti Stupa.

What to Know About Amala's Ladakh Women's Journey
A Shared Experience
This is a small, women-only group journey designed to bring together like-minded travellers. The experience is as much about connection as it is about destination, with shared moments, conversations, and discoveries shaping the journey along the way.
Pace & Style of Travel
The itinerary is intentionally unhurried, allowing time to acclimatise to altitude and move comfortably through the landscape. Days are balanced between activity and rest, with space to slow down and fully take in the surroundings.
Group Dynamics
You will travel together as a group for transfers, guided walks, and key experiences, while still having opportunities for personal time. The atmosphere is relaxed and supportive, with an emphasis on moving at a pace that works for everyone.
Accommodation
Stays range from boutique properties in Leh to simple village homestays during the trek. These more rustic stays are an important part of the experience, offering a genuine connection to local life in Ladakh.
Physical Requirements
No prior trekking experience is required, though a moderate level of fitness is recommended. Walking at altitude can feel more demanding, so the focus is on steady, manageable progress rather than speed or endurance.
Mindset
Above all, this journey is about openness—to new environments, cultures, and people. A flexible and curious approach will allow you to fully embrace both the simplicity and beauty of Ladakh.
