Path to
The Tiger Reserves of Central India

Central India offers refuge to a bewildering variety of wildlife. Apart from the much celebrated Royal Bengal tigers, Central India’s mammals include, among others, the sloth bear, the Indian leopard, the wild dog or dhole, the Indian bison and the giant squirrel. Not forgetting the ornithology enthusiasts, Central India boasts some rich and diverse bird life.

The path to the Tiger Reserves of Central India tunes you in to the stories of Central India’s forests, Tadoba’s revolutionary conservation model and its unique forest-dwelling tribes; stories of Pench’s tigress ‘Collarwali’ and her fight to contribute to the park’s tourism, of the resilience of Kanha’s barasingha with populations reviving from the brink of distinction, and of Kanha’s indigenous Gond tribes and their forest-inspired art.
